Your post reminds me a little bit of the cliche "get busy living or get busy dying" but it's good advice. I do agree that our generation tends to have paranoia over looking desperate or needy. I find myself passing on opportunities for these reasons as well. You're not alone. And not alone in feeling less than worthwhile.
